Unconventional Beauties…
I’m very excited to be reading at Auntie’s Bookstore in Spokane with two amazing YA authors: Brie Spangler, who wrote the novel Beast, and Whitney Gardner, the author of You’re Welcome, Universe. Saturday, April 8th at 7 pm
Both books are just amazing, and they deal with characters who are struggling with identity and courage and where they fit in the world.
Beast is about A guy who wishes himself into a different body and life and then falls for a transgender girl who’s struggling through her transition. Spangler spins a beautiful, heartbreaking story of what draws people together and what actually matters once they find each other.
You’re Welcome, Universe is about a graffiti artist who’s also deaf. She gets in trouble at her school and has to transfer to a new school where she gets into a fierce and beautiful graffiti war with an unknown artist.
